Grass Valley City Council Recognizes the Arts Tonight

The Grass Valley city council recognizes the arts tonight as they authorize the mayor to sign a letter of endorsement supporting that governor Jerry Brown appoint local real estate agent and long time Nevada County arts supporter Jon Blinder to the California Arts Council. Blinder says he has already received a similar letter from the County and the council is responsible to distribute arts funding for the state.

“The California Arts Council are essentially responsible to distribute what limited funds that there are that come in from the various programs that they do to bring in money into the state. Those get distributed through decisions made at the board level.”

In the letter to the governor may Arbuckle states, “Mr. Blinder has been the driving force in the success of the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley. He currently serves as the Board President of the Arts collaborative of Nevada County of which he is a founding member. The Grass Valley City council meets in the council chambers at city hall on E. Main Street in Grass Valley at 7pm Tuesday night.
