Grass Valley Man Arrested of Robbery and Assault

A Grass Valley man is under arrest for robbery after an incident on Sutton Way, Saturday morning. Grass Valley Police Captain Rex Marks says 28 year old Clayton Abbott of Grass Valley was taken into custody after the victim called and reported a robbery and assault. Captain Marks says Officers found Abbot at the apartment of the victim where he had allegedly forcibly taken the cell phone and car keys from the victim.

“It was identified that the victim in the matter had also been assaulted and had physical injuries as a result of the altercation. Further investigation by the officers found that Mr. Abbot was, in fact, in possession of stolen property of the victim, that being a cell phone and car keys.”

Abbott was taken into custody for suspicion of robbery, assault on a former spouse, violation of probation and destroying a telephone.
