Grass Valley Man Killed in Highway 70 Accident

The Grass Valley community is saddened   by the news of the  drowning death of Aaron J. Weiss, son of Dwight and Debbie Weiss; Dwight Weiss and his brother, Marty Weiss, own Weiss Bros. Nursery in Grass Valley’s Glenbrook Basin. Aaron was involved in a vehicle accident on HWY 70 in his PG&E work truck when it left the road way and went into the Rock Creek Reservoir. The accident happened at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Plumas National Forest, about 100 miles north of Grass Valley. The CHP has released the name of the other PG&E worker who drowned.  Ryan Miles. Two other PG&E workers were able to get out of the sinking truck and swim to shore.  The CHP says Miles was driving on Highway 70 when he drifted off the shoulder and lost control of the vehicle. Aaron Weiss graduated from Nevada Union High School and later graduated from California State University, Chico, where he met the woman who would become his wife, Lisa Weiss. The couple is expecting their first child in November, Information on a memorial service is pending.
