Grass Valley Police Department called to the Hollbroolke Sunday

The Grass Valley Police Department was called to the Holbrooke Hotel Sunday where an individual was intoxicated in the parking lot in the rear of the hotel with a child present and when officers arrived to manage that situation they were received a call of an unconscious male laying in an adjacent parking lot with injuries.  According to Grass Valley Police Sgt Steve Johnson, after an initial investigation it was discovered the man had been brutally beaten by 4 men.

“There were some witnesses on scene. One of the witnesses told the officers what had happened and basically described that this victim had been assaulted by four individuals. He had been knocked to the ground and in the course of the assault, they had began kicking him in the abdomen and the face area, causing pretty significant injury.”

During the investigation with the witness, the witness pointed out a man in the alley and identified him as one of the suspects. A short foot chase ensued and 22 year old Daniel Abbot was taken into custody. Abbott was arrested for assault doing great bodily injury and interfering with an officer. The victim was treated for his injuries his condition is unknown.
