Grass Valley Police Officer Honored for Work with Kids

A Grass Valley Police Officer will be honored by the City Council for his work with children and students at the council meeting tonight (Tuesday night). Captain Rex Marks say Officer Zack LaFerriere will be honored for his work with the students and Silver Springs High School and for the youth programs he helps coordinate in the summer.

“Officer Laferriere and his many tasks and assignments as a school resource officer has been extremely involved in engaging with the youth in the community and hopes of building better public relations with them and also preventing or discouraging incidents of youth violence, truancy and absenteeism in the schools.”

The Captain is crediting the Nevada Union High School District with bring forward the request to the Council. The Captain described the Officer as a person who gives a hundred and ten percent in caring about the youth of the community.
