Grass Valley Woman Injured in Indian Spring Accident

A Grass Valley woman went to the hospital after shearing off a power pole on Indian Springs Road early Saturday morning. CHP Public Information Officer Marc Morrison says the accident was reported shortly after midnight. Officer Morrison describes what happened when the 22 year old Grass Valley woman drove her 1997 Jeep off the road.

“She unfortunately allowed her car to drift off the road and off onto the shoulder and it struck a power pole which severed the pole right at the base and dropped the lines down across the road and she went a little bit further, crashed through a fence and came to a stop.”

The woman was taken to Sierra Nevada Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. When the CHP went to speak with the woman she was taken into custody for driving under the influence. When the power pole was sheared off Indian Springs Road was closed for five hours until PG&E crews could remove the live power lines.
