Grocery Outlet Surprises Habitat Families With Stocked Cabinets

A local couple got a surprise when they went to their new Habitat for Humanity home. During the ribbon cutting on Sunday, Habitat volunteers asked the couple to cut the ribbons on the cabinet doors in the kitchen.  The couple was overwhelmed when they opened the doors to find the cabinets filled with everything one their grocery list.  Lori Baskim of Grocery Outlet and her husband had provided all the food and cleaning supplies. Baskim said this was their part of giving back to the community.

“We’ve been proud supporters of Habitat for Humanity for the last three years and we always want to give the family one extra leg into their new home. So as a special treat for the last three years, whenever there’s been a home dedication, we have stocked the house with groceries from the Grocery Outlet in Grass Valley.”

Baskim also provided a hundred dollar gift certificate for any items they forgot.
