GV Fire Hosts Open House for Station No 1

Grass Valley Fire Department is celebrating completion of the improvements to the Station No. 1 Firehouse on Brighton Street with an open house this Sunday, October 9th.  Battalion Chief Tom Browning hopes the community will stop by to see it.

“Well, we’re very excited to be back in Station 1, our Brighton Street Station. The station’s been completely remodeled, has an office area where the public can be greeted and ask questions about fire department services.”

There are upgrades to the kitchen area, the sleeping areas and the bays and workshops. They will open all the doors and let people walk through to see what it’s like to live at a firehouse. from 10 am to 3 pm this Sunday.. The improvements have taken a little over a year to complete at a cost of about 100 thousand dollars and most of that was with redevelopment and grant funds.
