HOPE, Love and Relief Benefit for Alicia Gettler-Mayes

The HOPE, Love and Relief Benefit for Alicia Gettler-Mayes is Friday October 14th at the Nevada City Elks Lodge from 6 to midnight. The local NU graduate, wife, mom and most recently an employee of Maria’s restaurant, has been diagnosed with an advanced stage of breast cancer. Her friends and family are hosting the benefit to try to help out the family with expenses during this difficult time. Family friend Booby G says the entertainment for the evening will be phenomenal.

“We’ve got a piano player to start off the night and we have a comedian from the bay area- that’s one of our surprise guests for the night. We’ve got Cliff Branch from the Oakland Raiders coming.”

Bobby G says they would like to raise $10 thousand dollars for the family of Alicia Gettler-Mayes and that depends on whether they can keep costs at zero so all proceeds can go to the family. They still need food donations as the ticket sales continue to climb. Organizers say SPD has given them a gift card and others donors have helped but as the tickets continue to sell the need for more food rises as well. If you can help with food or if you would like to buy a ticket you can call Bobby G. at 615-1226.  Tickets are $20 dollars for adults and $10 for children.
