Hospitality House Nevada County’s homeless shelter program is also having success in putting clients and other members of the community into housing. Board President Joanna Robinson says the agency received a $148,000 Housing and Community Development Grant in January for a Rapid Rehousing Program and they assigned two and a half staff members to the project.
They look for logical solutions to problems getting in the way of a person being in their own home.
It can be things like finding them transportation, connecting them with housing assistance programs even getting them needed medications . Robinson says so far they have taken on 67 cases ranging from indivduals to entire families and 23 have obtained housing.
