Humpty Dumpty Restaurant erupted in flames Saturday night. The breakfast and lunch spot popular with the locals located on East Main Street received substantial damage. A man driving by reported smoke pouring from the building at 8:40pm and 25 firefighters and multiple engines responded and were on scene for over 2 hours to suppress the flames. The fire appears to have originated in a prep room and not in the main kitchen, but spread throughout the structure. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. There was another fire to the building on east Main Street in 2008, but that blaze did not cause as much damage as the fire Saturday night. The family run business is owned by Randy Hodges and his brother Robert and has been at its current location since 1976. This morning barricades block the two entrances to the property and much of the fire damage area has been boarded up.
