Jaws of Life Cut Woman out of Car on Greenhorn Road

A woman had to be cut out of a car after an accident on Greenhorn Road, Saturday afternoon. CHP Officer Jeff Pingree says the accident happened near Pine Peak Road, after the Grass Valley woman lost control of her 2000 Escalade. Officer Pingree says witnesses said the driver was going far beyond the speed limit.

“A Cadillac Escalade that was driving on Greenhorn Road for unknown reasons, we have witnesses saying that they were driving at a high speed. For unknown reasons, he left the roadway and came to rest in the middle of some pine trees.”

The woman had to be cut out with the Jaws of Life by the Consolidated Fire Fighters. Officer Pingree says the woman was taken to Sierra Nevada Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The CHP is focusing their investigation on the woman being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
