Job Posted for New High School District 4 Trustee

The Nevada Joint Union High School District has begun the process of selecting a new District 4 Trustee, the seat that was recently vacated by Board President Mark Heauser.  District Superintendent Marianne Cartan says the application is now posted on the school district’s website and the deadline to submit is September 9th.  Applicants will be sent a letter to attend the school Board meeting on September 21st when they will each have 5 minutes to address the Board on issues outlined in the letter Cartan says the entire process will be conducted in open session.

“Then the board will be deliberating and discussing that evening all in open session and will most probably make the appointment that evening.”

If there are a high number of applicants a follow-up special meeting may be called by the Board. Applicants for the board set must live in District 4 and a map of that district is available from the district or the county elections office. Cartan says the Vice President of the board, Katy Schwarz has assumed the duties of President and then the Board will elect its new roster of officers in December.  The appointee to trustee district 4 will serve out the rest of Heauser’s term ending in November of 2012.
