A Lake of the Pines man was arrested for DUI by CHP after crashing his car into a Lake of the Pines yard and hitting a tree. 43-year old Eric Post, listed as the Operations Manager for the LOP Association, on their member web site, was driving his 2008 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck on Bobolink Way toward Oakmont way when he turned his vehicle to the right causing it to collide into a large tree and address sign at the corner of a private drive. Mr. Post began to drive away but was unable to due to damage to his truck. Higgins fire responded along with an ambulance and CHP. CHP officer Greg Tassone was called to the scene and was advised that Mr. Post was not cooperating with medical personal at the scene.

“We were advised that there was a party that was involved in the collision that was not cooperating with emergency personnel. Once I arrived on the scene, he was cooperative with me, although not entirely forthcoming with everything that had happened in the collision. After subsequent investigation I found that he had been driving under the influence and took him into custody at the scene.”

The roadway was blocked for about an hour as the truck was towed and the investigation of the accident scene was completed.
