Lake of the Pines Stabbing Suspect Arrested

Nevada county Sheriff’s responded to several 9-1-1 calls from Lake of the Pines shortly after midnight this morning. Lt. John Kropp says they were directed to a home in the 11-thousand block of Northshore North where a small party appeared to be underway and an altercation had ensued.

“While en route, more 911 calls indicated that there was a stabbing at a residence and emergency medical services were also dispatched. Upon arrival deputies found a white male victim, approximately 33 years of age deceased, apparently, due to stab wounds. According to witnesses on scene, a male suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle.”

That vehicle was pursued with assistance of Placer and Sacramento County deputies and the CHP and 24 year old Brandon Riddle-Terrel of Petaluma was taken into custody. He was booked into Sacramento County Jail and his transfer to Nevada County is pending. Presently Nevada County detectives are interviewing additional witnesses and the crime scene has been secured pending assistance from the California Department of Justice for processing. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.
