Several Cars and a mail drop box were broken into in the Lake of the Pines this week. Sheriff Keith Royal says Tuesday morning they received several different reports of crimes that had occurred.
“Three of them were thefts from unlocked vehicles, which included property such as wallets, navigation systems, digital cameras, stuff like that. And then we had a fourth call of a theft from a community drop box for outgoing mail.”
The sheriff’s says they found evidence that the mail had been gone through and some checks were missing. The sheriff says at this point they don’t have any suspects. But he reminds property owners to help yourself not become a victim by locking vehicles and don’t leave valuable items in view.
