The American Lung Association is out with it’s State of Tobacco Control 2014 Report that tracks progress on key tobacco control policies at the state and federal levels. While other states have taken steps forward, progress in California, which was once on the forefront of tobacco control efforts, has stagnated. Stacy Fong is Policy Coordinator for the American Lung Association in California.
The report also breaks down by cities and counties in California and in Nevada County the report card was a mixed bag.
The Lung Association says 33,000 Californians die each year due to tobacco.
