Man Arrested for Assault and 9-1-1 Disconnect

Early this morning around 3:40 a.m.  Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 16 thousand block of Country Wood Lane after dispatch had received a 9-1-1 call that disconnected. Lt. John Kropp says deputies have responded to numerous prior calls to the residence in response to physical altercations. When deputies arrived they found a female victim who said her boyfriend had assaulted her and fled.

“Actually her son witnessed the assault and he’s the one that called 911 and as the suspect observed this, he ripped the phone out of the wall and fled the residence.”

Deputies conducted a perimeter search of the property and located the suspect 39 year old Chad Christopher Rathjen.

“We located the suspect face down on the ground. He was taken into custody with little resistance and subsequently charged with inflicting injury on a spouse or cohabitant, false imprisonment and damaging a phone line.”

Rathjen was also served with an outstanding warrant from another outside agency.
