Man Arrested for Domestic Violence While in Court for Other Charges

A man wanted for domestic violence was taken into custody after he appeared in court on unrelated charges. Nevada County Sheriff’s Lieutenant John Kropp says the victim reported that she had been hit in the face and pushed by her husband Sunday night. The victim came to the Sheriff’s Office the next morning to report the attack by 47 year old John Detweiler. The Lieutenant says the victim did suffer minor injuries.

“The victim state that her husband had pushed her and punched her in the cheek and she sustained a quarter inch cut inside her lip.”

Detweiler was taken into custody by deputies after he made his court appearance. He was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on suspicion of spousal abuse charges.
