Man Arrested for Drugs During Traffic Stop

A driver learned it is wise to drive cautiously when transporting drugs. CHP Public Information Officer Marc Morrison says a person was stopped on Highway 49 near the old Downieville Road Friday afternoon for a minor traffic violation by a CHP Sergeant. When the Sergeant approached the car, a very strong odor of marijuana came out of the car. The sergeant searched the car and found several suspected drugs and evidence of sales of the drugs. Officer Morrison tells what was found.

“A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed several illegal drugs and packaging materials.”

Several packages of suspected magic mushrooms and evidence of sales of the drugs were found. 26 year old James Crouse of Grass Valley was taken into custody for suspicion of drug possession and sales.
