Man Arrested for Kidnapping, False Imprisonment and Spousal Abuse

A 55 year old Grass Valley man was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment with violence and spousal abuse after an argument allegedly became physical. William Dale Carman, 55, got into a verbal dispute with an unnamed female victim on Sunday evening. The pair had been gold panning in the south county and, returning the Grass Valley, according to Nevada County Undersheriff Henry Serrano, an argument became heated, and turned physical.

“The male ended up striking the female and she tried to get out of the car and he grabbed her and kept her in the car and then they got back to a residence there on Bonnieview and he drug her up to the house by the hair.”

A Sheriff’s deputy searching the area spotted the suspect vehicle with its door open, and allegedly saw damage inside the vehicle consistent with an altercation, and contacted the couple. William David Carman was booked into the Wayne Brown correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail.
