Man Arrested for Slashing Neighbors' Pool

A man slashing his neighbors’ swimming pool was taken into custody. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says Deputies responded to Carrie Drive Monday afternoon to a report of a man shooting out the solar lights of his neighbors, with a pellet gun. The Sheriff says when the deputies arrived they found much more damage.

“One of the neighbors had apparently been taking a pellet gun and shooting out different front lights of residences in the neighborhood and ultimately he took a large knife/sword and went and cut up one of the doughboy pools in the neighbors’ yard and caused all of the water to flow out of the pool.”

The Sheriff says the 61 year old man was taken into custody for suspicion of felony vandalism. The Sheriff says when the man was checked at Sierra Nevada Hospital he was held with mental health issues. Medical personnel are still trying to locate the proper facility for the man. When the water flowed out of the pool significant damage was done to the neighbors’ property.
