Man Arrested with Suspected Drugs in his Shoes

A Nevada County Sheriff’s Deputy detained a man Thursday night around 10 o’clock when he was seen walking in the roadway on Highway 20 at the Mill Street off ramp. Sheriff Keith royal says the deputy recognized the man as 25 year old Jonathan Pattee of Smartsville from his prior criminal activity.

“They knew that he was on Court Summary Probation and had searchable terms because of that probation and he’s walking in the middle of the street, so they confront him. They know that he usually carries drugs in his shoes, so they have him remove his shoes, and then they have him remove his socks- and out fall the drugs.”

Pattee claimed he did not know how the drugs go there.  He was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
