Man Tosses Cocaine and Runs

A local man has a warrant for his arrest after he threw a half a pound of cocaine out a car window. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says 31 year old Brendan Baker was wanted for trying to elude the CHP and trying to destroy evidence. Sheriff Royal says the incident happened on August 24th, when a CHP Officer tried to stop him, he fled. Baker was tased by Officers when he was finally stopped on Brunswick Road. Baker was still able to elude Officers. The Sheriff says Barkers car was found on Merrill Court off of Pittsburg Mine Road several days later.

“Lying on the ground near the driver’s door were the taser probes and the wires attached, laying on the ground there.”

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Barker is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 265-7880.
