Michael Babbich Pulls Out of 1st Assembly Race

Michael Babbich, a retired US Army Colonel from Placer County announces he will no longer seek election to the 1st Assembly seat.  That leaves Brian Dahle, a Lassen County Supervisor, and Rick Bosetti, a Redding City Councilman as the other Republicans in the race.  The other candidates are Charley Hooper, a Libertarian from Grass Valley and Robert Meacher, a Democrat Plumas County supervisor.

Babbich says with the passage of Proposition 14 last year, we now have an open primary and he does not want to dilute the vote and run the risk his Republican party looses the district.  Babbich in a released statement says   his decision will also allow him to continue working on   his book “uncommon sense” on the consequences of the dumbing down of America as well as teaching and running his biotechnology company which is focusing on a cure for cancer.
