Miller Place Home Destroyed by Fire

Fire Fighters responded quickly to a home on Miller Place in Grass Valley Tuesday shortly before noontime, Grass Valley fire Captain Steve Smith says no one was at home when the fire broke out. Fire fighters from Nevada City, Grass Valley Consolidated and Ophir Hill were able to knock down the flames quickly to minimize spread to the rest of the house and nearby homes. Captain Smith says the home was fifty percent involved in flames when they arrived.

“We had a single story residential structure about 50% involved upon our arrival. The cause is going to be under investigation.”

The Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents of the home as the home is not habitable.
