The Nevada City City council has given their unanimous support to Nevada County Consolidated Fire District and their efforts to pass a special assessment to maintain fire protection services at current levels. Consolidated Board member, Dave Hanson says the City council passed a resolution on a 5-0 vote and are also taking their commitment to support Consolidated Fire to a personal level by blogging and e-mailing people on their contacts list about the importance of passing the fire assessment. Hansen says Nevada City has its own fire district and will not be part of the special election but Nevada City residents will benefit from it.
