Low interest loans and free training are available to startup and existing businesses in Nevada City to promote growth and jobs in the local economy. David Nelson is a Rural Community Development Specialist with the Business Assistance Loan Program in Nevada City. He says there are two loan programs available, one for existing businesses and one for Micro-enterprises with 5 or fewer employees. Nelson says with below market rates and flexible terms, the loans are attractive to the seasoned business owner as well as the start up entrepreneur. Classes are taught by business professionals and the next series of courses begins this Thursday, September 29th.
“We have business basics, another topic is book keeping for small businesses, business plan guidelines, social media and branding and marketing. When you qualify, you can attend one or all of theses or you can attend any feature classes that we have, we’re repeating it two more times next year.”
Nelson says you must be pre registered and have, or plan to have a business presence in Nevada City to attend the classes. Business start-ups are eligible. Call David Nelson Consulting at (530) 346-7195 for pre-registration screening. To learn more on the Community Development Block Grant Funds visit the website, Nevadacitybizloans.com.
