Race organizers for the Nevada City Bicycle Classic should know later this week how many teams will be sending riders to the 53rd Anniversary race that happens this Fathers Day. Race Director Duane Strawser says the International teams wait to the last days, because that’s when racing in Europe takes a break.
Senior and professional riders representing top US cycling teams are expected to race in the men’s 90 minute main event, which is the last race of the day. Women’s Junior’s and Master’s races also are planned. Strawser says racers come for the purse and to say they have raced in the famous Nevada City Classic.

Strawser says having major sponsors including Waste Management, The UPS Store and Subaru will make the Bicycle Classic even more appealing to racers and spectators this year.
