Nevada City is moving closer to selecting a new Police Chief. Current Chief Lou Travato says they have been narrowing the number of applicants to the top three. The Chief says the applicants were trimmed down and then oral interviews were conducted to find the best people.
“We received applicants, we went through them and conducted orals and we’re down to possible three candidates. Now it’s up to the City Manager and they City Council to decide what one of the three that they would like to have.”
Chief Travato says he is hopeful the council will make the necessary decision in a week. The new chief will replace Trovato who has retired but came back to the department to fill in while a new chief was selected.
