Nevada City Man Arrested at South Yuba Campground

Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Nevada City man at a South Yuba Campground off Bloomfield road for possession of stolen property and attempting to return it to the woman it was stolen from. Capt. Joe Salivar says 32 year old Jarred Rice was identified as a person of interest  in a prior burglary reported by a woman at the campground early in July, one of the items reported stolen was a DVD player.

“Fast forward to Monday, a month later, when she’s staying at the South Yuba Campground again she arrives there, and for reasons unknown at this time, the alleged suspect approached her and pointed out which campsites were available for her to stay in. At the same time, he produced a dvd mini-player which she recognized was hers.”

Rice was charged with receiving known stolen property and possession of concentrated cannabis, both felonies.
