Nevada City Man Arrested for Assault With Taser and Drug Charges

Grass Valley Police responded to a call from Ridge Road and Sierra Drive regarding a Nevada City man disturbing the peace. Grass Valley Police Captain Rex Marks says 21 year old Robert Wagner was under the influence of several illicit drugs when he assaulted the victim, tore out phone lines and used a taser on the victim.

“He was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and/or other substances so he was requested to submit to a field sobriety test, which he did. At that time he advised that he had consumed a number of illicit drugs, including Methadone and Xanax. Ultimately in his evaluation, he was found to be under the influence, secured, and taken to the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.”

Wagner was charged with damaging a phone line, assault with a taser, possession of a controlled substance, operating a vehicle while under the influence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at over $50,000.
