Nevada City Man Resist Arrest, Assaults Officer

A Nevada City man grabbed a Sheriff’s Deputy by the throat while he was being arrested. Nevada County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Powell says Deputies went to a Black Sands Mine Road Home  to a reported domestic violence situation, Monday evening. When the Deputies arrived they found the victim with numerous cuts and scratches from the altercation. Captain Powell says Deputies found 47 year old Michael Radon of North San Juan and tried to arrest him.

“Informed him that he was under arrest and he decided he didn’t want to be under arrest. He eventually ended up grabbing one of the deputies by the throat and a tussle was on. Another deputy tazed Radon and gained compliance and he was placed into custody for domestic violence.

Radon was also charged with assault on an Officer. He was booked at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
