A Nevada City Police Officer on patrol near Broad and York Street at 3:15a.m. Wednesday morning noticed a small black vehicle with a shattered windshield. Nevada city Police Lt. Loren Gage says the officer turned around to stop the vehicle but it sped away.

Lt. Gage says the officer took 31 year old Jason Scott Boyce of Grass Valley into custody, and when preparing to have the vehicle towed noticed some items inside.
Scott was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on charges of driving on a suspended license, possession of metal knuckles and possession of burglary tools.
