Nevada City officials hope to have a job opening posted for a new police chief by the end of next week. City Council member Duane Strawser says the council will meet for 3 hours this morning to establish parameters of the job and what they would like to see in a new police chief.
“Basically what we have done now is started the final process of coming up with the criteria of what type of a police chief we are looking for as far as a fit in the community. We’re establishing the job description and requirements.”
The position will be offered with a total compensation package of $48 thousand per year and the cutoff date for applicants to apply for the position of Nevada City Police Chief will be December 23rd.
