Nevada City Wrong Way Driver on Drugs

Nevada City Police arrested a woman on drug charges after she was driving the wrong direction on the freeway   According to Lt. Lorin Gage, officers found her vehicle parked in a dangerous location.

“She was parked facing the wrong way in the traffic lane on the onramp at 49 and 20, possibly could be some prescription medication involved.”

The CHP assisted in the stop saying they pursued the driver going the wrong way on the freeway near the HWY 20/49 intersection near the Coyote Street exit ramp. When Nevada City found the woman, identified as 28 year old Elizabeth Scarpinati of Modesto she had parked in the oncoming lane with her lights off, sitting in her car. Scarpinati was arrested for being under the influence and booked into the Wayne Brown correctional facility.
