The Nevada County Fairgrounds is already making plans for this year’s Fair. Nevada County Fair publicist Wendy Oaks says Artists are asked to send in their interpretation of the theme of the 2012 Nevada County Fair theme – “Barnyard Safari.”

“Focusing, of course on livestock and agriculture, very important to our county and each year we do this and we call out to the artists to draw out the art and if we choose that art, it’s $250 and a fair package to the Nevada County Fair.”

The contest, which is open to Nevada County residents only, takes place now through Friday, February 10. The winning artist will win $250, and as your artwork will be seen all over the fair and beyond.

“It is on our posters, on our advertising, on t-shirts, on all of our printed pieces, it’s everywhere. It becomes the look of the fair every year.”
