New Business in Grass Valley

New Businesses are opening in downtown Grass Valley just in time for the holiday open house November 12th and more are coming in time for Cornish Christmas later this month. Howard Levine, Executive Director of the Downtown Association tells us about the creativity behind Sugar Pines photography studios and True Grit – nostalgia photography both on Mill Street.

“Cedar Pines Studio is a photo gallery. Jim Beckett, a Sierra College faculty member is a really fine photographer and on the other side, True Grit, they will have participatory photography that will really be a lot of fun and they have all these costumes that are related to the gold country and they’re very active and they’ve done a lot with their shop.”

Those two shops are located at 140 Mill Street and the Artist Workshop, is billed as a place for families to explore their creativity with a Grand Opening on Nov 12 – on East Main.

“They are going to be having a creative space for anyone from young kids to teenagers. They’ll have workshops, classes, camps, parties, a place where people can really come in and explore their creativity.”

Holiday Open House November 12 is also 2nd Saturday in Grass Valley, with the monthly Art and Wine Walk from 4 to 7 pm, also Holiday Open House – all the merchants in Downtown Grass Valley offering a start to the holiday shopping season with holiday discounts.
