Dr. Connor says a stroke can also cause what’s called vascular dementia as well as a concussion and brain injury. Women tend to develop dementia more than men but Dr. Connor says that’s because they live longer. She says there are things a person can do to keep their minds sharp.
The Wellness Wednesdays series begins tomorrow night (April 2) at 6:30 p.m. at Cascades of Grass Valley (formerly HighGate Sr. Living) 415 Sierra College Drive, Grass Valley. The program is for caregivers, family members, professionals and anyone who wants to learn more about the topic of dementia. It is free to the public.
