No Motor Sunday at Scotts Flat Lake

The quiet natural beauty of Scotts Flat Reservoir will be showcased on Sunday as Nevada Irrigation District hosts it’s 6th annual No Motor Day.   All Motorized boats will be kept off the lake for this day only and  non-motorized watercraft will be allowed entry to the Scotts Flat Recreation Area without charge for the day. NID  Recreation Manager Peggy Davidson says regular admission rates of $6.50 per vehicle with up to four people still  applies , but a number of special activities are free.

Gold Country Yacht Club will be set up in their area and they will be providing information about sail boats and take people out on a sailboat. And if you get hungry the Boy scouts will come to the rescue.

All of the No Motor Day events will be on the Scotts Flat Road side of the lake .  To get there take Hwy 20 east out of Nevada City to the five mile house and turn right onto Scotts Flat Road to the Gate 2 entrance to the Scotts Flat Marina.
