Occupy Wall Street Nevada County Rally November 2nd

The Occupy Wall Street Nevada County group is organizing the 4th local rally, this time back in the Brunswick Basin in front of the Rite-Aid by Sutton Way. Wednesday November 2nd at 4pm. Protesters are asked by organizers to not park in front of the stores and save the parking spots closest to the rally for elderly and disabled. John Crain, one of the local organizers also encourages protesters to show support for local businesses by encouraging demonstrators to make cash purchases from local merchants.

“We’re encouraging demonstrators to make cash purchases at our rallies. It’s cash to local merchants. And cash, not credit cards, because credit cards represent another way of money being taken out of our local economy.”

Although there is no ongoing “occupation” in Nevada County, supporters are encouraged to show up and share opinions and support the greater collective according to Crain. The local group has a web site and face book page at occupy Wall Street Nevada County. org.
