Penn Valley Man Arrested for Forgery

More victims are coming forward after the arrest of a Penn Valley man accused of forging documents and changing the mileage on cars. CHP Officer Cindy Morgan says a man came to their office on Monday with a forged title for a car and different mileage reading on several different documents. Officer Morgan says the former owner of the car said she had not signed the documents. The car the man sold was listed on Craig’s list.

“He brought it to my attention that the registration tab on the back appeared to be home made and that the mileage on the odometer was different than what had been signed on the title.”

33 year old Jessie Starr was taken into custody at his probation officer office.  Officer Morgan says one week later another victim of the same scam has come forward. Officer Morgan feels more victims are out there. She is asking potential victims to contact her at 273-4415.
