Penn Valley Woman Severely Injured in Motorcycle Accident

Penn Valley fire responded to the report of a motorcycle accident on HWY 20 yesterday morning (Thursday). Firefighter/Paramedic Doug Bowen with Penn Valley fire was says the driver was ejected and suffered major trauma.

“A 52 year old female, driver of a motorcycle made an illegal lane change and was ejected from her motorcycle, multiple trauma to the victim and she was flown to Sutter Roseville.”

The 52 year-old Penn Valley woman has been identified but her name is being withheld until next of kin are notified due to the severity of the injuries.  She was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 at about 9:15 a.m. when she lost control of her bike and was ejected from the vehicle, The accident occurred just east of HWY 20 and the Rough and Ready Highway. She was found nearly 50 feet from her 2006 Harley Davidson, She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but suffered major head trauma in the wreck and was transported via helicopter to Sutter Roseville Memorial Hospital. HWY 20 was closed in both directions for less than half an hour.
