Pickup Runs off Road on Rattlesnake

A pickup going to fast on snowy road ran off the road and into a creek. CHP Officer Justin Barnhouse says the driver lost control on Rattlesnake Road near Brooks Road was going to fast as he went into a turn in his 1997 Ford pickup. Officer Barnhouse says the driver went down a fifteen foot embankment and land in a creek.

“We had a gentleman that was driving his Ford Ranger pickup on Rattlesnake Road near Brooks about 35-45 miles per hour and when he entered the left hand curve, he applied his brakes but slid off the roadway down a 15 foot embankment and into a creek.”

The 57 year old Grass valley man received a large cut to his head. He was taken to Sierra Nevada Hospital for treatment of his non life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
