Power Outages in LOP and Alta Sierra Caused by Tornado

A tornado that touched down in the Lake of The Pines area shortly after 5:30 PM on Monday evening has left approximately 2800 residents in Lake of the Pines and Alta Sierra without electricity. Higgins Fire District and Pacific Gas and Electric crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible. A Pacific Gas and Electric spokesperson explains the status at 7:15 PM.

Crews a reworking quickly to try and restore power to the effected areas. There are numerous other outages as well as the LOP outage, but smaller in nature.

Pacific Gas and Electric did not have a definitive time that power would be restored, but crews wll continue working until all customers have power.
