Prisoner Waits in County Jail for Opening in State Mental Health Hospital

A prisoner remains in Nevada County jail after being sentenced to a mental health hospital. Nevada County Sheriff’s Captain Frank Koehler says he still has not heard from Napa State Hospital that Inmate Cody Feiler can be transported to the mental health facility in Napa. Feiler was sentenced to Napa State Hospital on June 23rd.

“We have not received any communication from Napa advising us that they either have a bed available for him or that they are ready to receive him.”

Feiler was found incompetent to stand trial for the murder of 75 year old James Turner of Alta Sierra. Feiler is accused of hitting Turner with a log which caused the death. Napa State Hospital says they have no beds available. Until a bed opens up Feiler will remain at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
