Prostate Cancer Screenings at SNMH

The older men get the more likely they are to develop Prostate Cancer.  Since September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital will offer a low cost screening clinic tomorrow (Tuesday).   Dr. Richard Evans will be part of the screening team.

“So the screening is going to be on Tuesday September 20th in the evening. You can call 274-6635 to register for that screening. There will be a $20 fee for your lab work which is to determine your PSA level which is one of the things we look at to determine who might be at risk for prostate cancer.”

About 217,000 men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer this year and about 33,000 of those will die because of their prostate cancer.
