Report of Domestic Dispute Leads to Drug Related Arrest

The report of a domestic dispute in Grass Valley Wednesday afternoon led to a drug related arrest. Grass Valley Police responded to the call to a residence on South Church Street. According to Sgt Steve Johnson officers contacted 28 year old Daniel Haggard who was distraught.

A further evaluation including what appeared to be fresh injection marks led officers to believe Haggard was under the influence of a controlled substance and placed him in custody. While handcuffed Haggard tried to but was unable to escape. While threatening the officers with obscenities he tried to assault them as well.

Officers were able to get Haggard into a vehicle, but his behavior continued.

Haggard calmed down and was transported to the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting an officer.
