A young female sailor who lost her life to Leukemia while serving her country will be laid to rest tomorrow at Greenwood Cemetery in Grass Valley. Cindy McVay, President of Blue Star Mothers- an organization of mothers of children who are serving or have served in any branch of the military- is asking for community support to honor Alicia Christina Snyder-Guerrera as she is transported from Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Grass Valley to Greenwood Cemetery on Old Rough and Ready Highway.
McVay and the Blue Star Mothers believe that all soldiers who pass away deserve the utmost respect and honor for their commitment to country and family. Guerra’s funeral is at 1:00 PM at Hooper and Weaver. A military graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
