The Salvation Army has been operating a warming shelter since Monday night for the homeless to get out of the cold weather. Patti Kyle with the Salvation Army says they have been averaging about 16 guests a night and they are given a dinner, overnight stay and breakfast in the morning before they leave for the day. She says they could use some warm clothing for the people who spend the day outside in the weather.
“We could use long johns; small, medium, large, extra large. Some of them could also use some boots as well, because some of their boots and shoes are getting soaked with the rain and the snow. We need tarps as well. Small tarps.”
Donations can be dropped off at the Salvation Army at 10725 Alta Street in Grass Valley.
